WHAT IS IT?
It’s a thick, sappy liquid sweetener made from coconut palm trees. Sometimes it can be called Coconut Palm Nectar – don’t get confused; it’s the same thing.
WHAT MAKES IT HEALTH-IER?
Coconut nectar is lower on the GI scale than table sugar and honey, therefore it won’t spike your blood sugar levels as much as other sweeteners.
HOW DO I USE IT?
I like to use coconut nectar in place of molasses in baking, because it’s so thick. Plus it’s vegan, so you can also use it in place of honey in most cases.
