Maple Miso Gravy

This Maple Miso Gravy is going to CHANGE THE GAME at this year's Thanksgiving meal. It's super simple and easily made vegetarian!

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable stock, heated
  • 2 tbsp white miso paste
  • 2 tbsp Coombs Family Farms Pure Maple Syrup
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper


  1. Heat a large pan over low heat. Add butter and diced yellow onion. Sauté for 15-20 minutes. 

  2. After 15-20 minutes, add in all purpose flour and whisk. It will become thick and paste-like. 

  3. Add in hot chicken or vegetable stock, and whisk. 

  4. Add in miso paste, Coombs Family Farms Pure Maple Syrup, salt and pepper. Whisk until smooth.

  5. Increase heat to medium-low, and sauté for 5-7 minutes. 

  6. Transfer to gravy boat and pour over everything.

  7. EAT UP.
