  • 32 oz vegetable broth
  • 32 oz water
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 16 oz dried black eyed peas
  • 1/2 cup liquid aminos (sub soy sauce)
  • 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic chili sauce (sub Sriracha)
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions, diced
  • 1 bundle dino kale, stemmed and chopped

top with:

  • chives
  • avocado

serve with:

  • Healthyish Coconut Oil Cornbread


  1. In a large soup pot, heat the veggie broth, water, tomato sauce over high heat until boiling.
  2. Once boiling add the black eyed peas and stir.
  3. Let sit for 1 hour, over low heat with the lid ajar.
  4. After 1 hour add the amino acids, nutritional yeast, garlic, garlic chili sauce, celery, and green onions. Stir to mix all ingredients.
  5. Let sit for 4-5 hours, over low heat with the lid ajar. Stir every hour.

  6. In the last hour of cooking, add in your kale and stir. Continue to cook for 1 hour

  7. Then dish out your soup, top with avocado and chives and EAT UP.
