David Atticus Sohmer is one of what we like to call “Mystery People.” If you Google that name, you’ll find only a few results that tell you pretty much nothing, and most of the results talk about his mother, Diedre, the actress behind Marlena Evans in Days of Our Lives.
In other words, even Google didn’t manage to get enough information about David Sohmer. So, who is this guy, exactly?
Here’s everything we know, and pretty much everything there is to know about him.
David Atticus’ Early Life
David Atticus Sohmer was born to Steve Sohmer and Deidre Hall on August 23, 1992, in Los Angeles, California. This makes him 33 years old at the time of writing.
His mother struggled for two decades before she could give birth to him because of infertility issues. You can only imagine how happy his parents were once his eyes opened for the first time, even if he wasn’t actually carried in his mother’s womb.
That’s right, surrogacy, which was highly unorthodox at the time, was the solution that Diedre relied on when she failed to conceive. She opted for surrogacy with the help of a 28-year-old divorced mother of four named Robin, who helped bring David to life.
Now, back to David himself, who had a decent childhood and a sort of “inevitability to fame.” After all, his father, Steve, was a significant figure in the entertainment industry, having worked on shows like Touched by an Angel and The Nanny.
On the other hand, his mother was a Star in the Soap Opera Days of Our Lives, and she used to bring him to set quite a few times, which somewhat sparked his interest in cameras and lights. It is LA, after all.
Education-wise, not much was documented. We do know that David attended schools in Los Angeles before pursuing higher studies abroad. According to Deidre, he studied in Paris and developed a passion for global adventures and travel. But that’s about it.
David Atticus’ Career
If you’re looking for a tale of a celebrity child leveraging his name for a directing gig or an acting cameo, you won’t find it here. David Atticus Sohmer’s career choices are defined by one guiding principle: privacy.
He did start with dabbling in the family business, but strictly behind the scenes as a producer rather than an actor.
More recently, he has reportedly moved to an entirely different career path, real estate, which is more fitting of his private approach to life away from the public eye.
David Atticus’ Life Achievements
You’ve probably guessed it by now, but there are no groundbreaking achievements by David, at least not ones that we know of. His life was a lot more on the ordinary side than fame, which is actually kind of difficult for the sons of celebrities.
In a way, we can say that his greatest achievement was managing to keep his life private despite the predestined spotlight.
Oh, and he did that while still maintaining a good relationship with his family. He is, by his mother’s own glowing accounts, a remarkable son, a loyal brother, and a man of substance.
David Atticus’ Personal Life
I know that we haven’t mentioned much so far, as David really managed to keep it private, but this is where the door firmly closes, and rightly so.
Sohmer is intensely hiding his private life. He avoids social media and keeps his personal relationships, romantic or otherwise, away from the public discourse.
What we do know is that the core of his personal life is his family. He is often by his mother’s side at major events, like her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2016, not seeking the flashbulbs, but as a supportive son.
Final Words
I’m not going to lie, David Atticus Sohmer has made it incredibly difficult to find solid public information about him. Most of what we found were speculations, and most of them weren’t exactly trustworthy.
We do know that he’s quite successful and financially comfortable, though we don’t know his net worth or even a remote estimation of it.
In essence, David managed to put his life together away from the public gossip and camera lenses, which, in my humble opinion, is what everyone should be aspiring to.
